『『小さな日常と大きな世界の悲しみ、微かな希望と非力な愛を描いたアンビエント作品』』
北航平の14枚目となるアルバム「Bouquet as the World（世界としての花束）」
前作「Children of the In-Between World（中間世界の子どもたち）」の続編的な位置付けとなる本作は、誰しもが抱えるどうする事も出来ない日常に点在する悲しみ、世界の大きな流れにかき消される叫び声、そして微かだが確実に存在する非力で小さな希望と愛を描いたアンビエント作品。
今回の作品の制作は、主に京都のギャラリーONE AND ONLYで行っており、録音の大半は同会場の古いピアノ（ピアニストの平井真美子氏の所蔵）を使用している。それ以外には、お馴染みの水のような音色を奏でるアレイムビラをはじめ、コミカルで温かみを感じるカリンバ、曇った質感を纏うアナログシンセ、古いテープノイズ、生活音や水の音、鳥の声など日常の風景を切り取った音素材を使用して、どこか子供心を感じる無垢でイビツなバランスを残しつつ自由にコラージュしている。
また、ガラス作家・高臣大介のアート作品や、同じくガラス作家・オカベマキコによるオリジナルガラス非楽器もフィーチャーし、楽器と非楽器、フィールドレコーディングなどが心地良く重なる独創的なサウンドも聴きどころのひとつ。
““An ambient piece about small everyday life and big world sadness, faint hope and impotent love”
This is Kita Kouhei’s 14th album. This ambient album is a sequel to the previous album “Children of the In-Between World”. It depicts the sorrows that dot everyone’s daily life, the cries that are drowned out by the great currents of the world, and the small, powerless hopes and loves that are faintly but surely present. The production of this work was mainly done in a gallery in Kyoto, and most of the recordings were made using an old piano there. Other than that, he uses his trademark instrument, the ArrayMbira, which plays a watery tone, original glass instruments, a comical and warm kalimba, analog synths clothed in cloudy textures, and old tape noise. He uses these materials to create a collage with an innocent and evocative balance that feels free and somewhat childlike. Another highlight of the sound is the creative and pleasant layering of field recordings of everyday scenes, such as the sounds of daily life, water, and birdsong.
